EDUCATION:

Anna Ignatenko Garcia is a first generation U.S. immigrant and a native of Kazakhstan, a former Soviet Union Republic. She has become a naturalized citizen of the United States. Like many immigrants, she came to the United States searching for the American Dream when she was just a teenager. Her journey to the United States began when she became one of the finalists of the Future Leaders Exchange Program sponsored by the U.S. Department of State.

She then continued her journey to a summa cum laude baccalaureate degree in Business Administration in two different institutions: American University in Central Asia, in Byshkek, Kyrgyzstan and University of Pikeville, Kentucky, USA, where she received a Young Rising Alumni Award.

Anna Ignatenko Garcia received her Doctor of Law degree from the University of Kentucky College of Law. She has also studied abroad under a prestigious LLM Program in Private International Legal Practice at Instituto de Empresa in Madrid, Spain.

EXPERIENCE:

Anna Ignatenko Garcia has experience representing clients before USCIS, DHS, U.S. embassies and consulates, asylum offices and immigration judges in San Francisco, Chicago and Memphis immigration courts. As a Kentucky licensed attorney, Anna Ignatenko Garcia can practice immigration law in any of the fifty states of the U.S. as well as before the Board of Immigration Appeals. Anna Ignatenko Garcia has previously practiced in two high volume fast-paced immigration law firms of Ahmad Law Office, PLLC and Salgado & Associates, P.A.

Prior to receiving her law degree, Anna Ignatenko Garcia worked with the Ukrainian, Chinese, Mexican and South African customers in the international sales and marketing department of the Johnson Industries, Inc. – a manufacturer of coal mining equipment located in Pikeville, Kentucky. She worked as a liaison between international customers and executive team of Johnson Industries.

INTERESTS:

Anna Ignatenko Garcia loves to travel and enjoys volunteering in the community. Her volunteer experience includes working as an interpreter for the delegation of Russian judges for the Kentucky World Trade Center and providing free legal services to the community organizations in the Bay Area. Anna Ignatenko Garcia also interned for the former U.S. District Court Chief Judge, Jennifer B. Coffman, and Fayette County Attorney’s Office.
